Its midnight..what am I doing? I have no clue...I just cant sleep. Im dying to jam on the guitar. It really is my favorite thing in the world.
Why is it that music works for any moment in life? Think about it, when you're happy, playing your favorite song is great! When you're mad, its nice to scream to some music. Music is there when you're sad, in love, lonely, spiritual, having fun....everything! I LOVE MUSIC.
And the guitar just brings it all together for me. Usually, the songs I fall in love with big time, are songs played acoustically. Its so beautiful, I cant even stand it!
I cant wait for school to start so I can go take guitar lessons...cuz they arent as expensive in Cedar as they are here in Vegas! Whew!
Anyways, that was my random blog-age at midnight.
Listen to music. End of story.

Always a kid
Let me start this entry out with a funny story. =]
Today, I walked into the living room and saw my brother Keaton sitting in our wheelable office chair. I immediately felt the need to spin him, so I asked if he wanted me to. Of course, as a duty of a younger brother, he had to say yes. I spun him around and around...he kept yelling FASTER! So I spun and spun until I couldn't even grab the chair! I was laughing, and Keaton kept screaming "Woah, where am I? Dude Im going so fast!" He then yelled "Hey, stop this thing!" I laughed, like big sisters do right? But, I also tried to stop him. The chair was spinning so fast that I couldn't grab it. It was like my reaction time to stopping the chair was just too slow! Next thing we know, Keaton goes spinning out of control and right into the Hedgehog's cage. It flew across the living room, leaving the poor hedgehog's bedding everywhere, and little Spike (that's the hedgehog) was curled up in a prickly ball in the corner.
I burst out in laughter! I couldn't control it! I was hunched over, holding my gut, and laughing like crazy. All the while, Keaton is sitting in the chair just staring at the mess. Then....mom walks in. Of course, I continue to laugh. Keaton, he tries to explain what happened and I start to feel bad for laughing. So through my laughter I manage to mumble to my mom that it was all my idea. She was giving us the "mom stare", but I could see her lips trying not to curl up and laugh. It must have been an even better sight from an outside perspective. She "firmly" told us to clean it all up.
I continued to laugh.
And Keaton continued to look baffled.
We cleaned up the mess and I told him how funny it is that brothers and sisters just don't change. Why did he listen to me when I suggested the dumb idea of spinning in the chair? Because I'm his older sister, and I make things sound fun. What's the most hilarious of all, is the fact that we still reacted the same way we've always reacted when we get in trouble together. Really, it's always been that way...I laugh histarically, and Keaton gets nervous that he's gonna get yelled at. Which I dont blame him, I used to pretend like I never did anything...but I'd end up confessing every time. Plus, I mean, if I were a mom and I walked in on my kids, one laughing and the other nervous, I would immediately assume it was the nervous childs fault...whatever it may be. But, I stick up for him and never make him take ALL the blame ;]
It truly was hilarious. This was not something a 19 year old and 16 year old would be doing. Always always always a kid!
Anyhow, that's the funny story! Lately, I haven't been up to much. Just keeping track of my online class. Oh! I did go to Bikram Yoga. If you don't know what that is, heres a summary: Its yoga, but in a room the temperature of a sauna. 105 degrees.
It is incredible! I loved every second of it! Well, minus the fact that I was beside a man in a speedo, and the fact that I got dizzy and had to sit down..all the while thinking I was guna pass out & telling myself I hate this and never wanna do it again....
Haha, don't worry..they tell you that dizziness is common. If you feel dizzy at any time, just sit down. It works. But Im not used to feeling dizzy, so it freaked me out. Hence, why I was telling myself i hate it and want to quit. Once I finished the class though, I'd never felt so great in my life. Really! It works everything in your body and makes you feel rejuvenated. Im signing up soon, for a month! So I can go everyday until I leave for school! YAY!
My friend Heidi tore her ACL playing soccer on Wednesday. Oh man, I was freaking out! But she's got it all taken care of, and I'll be moving in sooner than we know it...and I'll be helping her out!!
So, there you have it! Up-to-date on Ashleigh's life!

4th of July in Washington, D.C.!
So! Washington, DC was amazing! There are tons of pix, so i tried to limit how many i put up. hahha.. still alot though! We got to the airport at 10pm in vegas, and we got on the plane and i started doing my nervous laugh cuz i was afraid of the plane ride. hahaha..it was too funny. But, i realized that i actually LOVE riding planes! Its so much fun! really, even turbulents i love. I must be crazy. Anyhow, I didnt sleep the whole time. We got to Wisconsin around 5am, and I was tired, but i just couldnt sleep! Too excited i suppose!
Heidi and I took pictures with cheese on our heads! Woohoo! We got back on the plane at 6:30am, and we landed in Baltimore at 9:30am! Matt's dad picked us up from the airport & we took a detour to his house so we could get a good view of the temple! It looks amazing! You're just driving along the freeway and then BOOM there it is. Incredible. It just might be my favorite temple. When i saw it, i literally forgot how to breathe. Heidi was like "ashleigh, are u ok?" hahahah.. amazing what temples do to you right?!
So finally, we get to Matt's house, and his dad gave us a tour & then headed to work! Their house is AMAZING. really. & so we showered & got ready for the day. matt got home from work at 2:30 & then we all went to the mall area, where the monument & abe lincoln is and stuff. We did tons of walking & saw SOO MUCH that day! We even got lost, cuz matt thought he knew how to get home by foot instead of taking the metro...turns out he didnt. haha. I got blisters pretttttty bad. & then we had a joke that he is "Matt Quest" if you wanna get lost, just go to Matt Quest. Hahah.. I thought it was fun to be lost though =] A good adventure!
Anywho, Matt bought us crepes for dinner, and they were FANTASTIC! The next day, Matt had work, so Sarah, Heidi & I went to visit Senator Orrin Hatch's office, cuz Heidi is an intern for him right now, & it was cool to see the office! Then we went to the smithsonian museums! & to the botanical gardens. All of which were awesome. We went to china town for lunch & they made me try sushi! It was good, except the raw stuff...i thought too much about it, so it made me wanna puke. Hahah. But then we met Matt at the Holocaust museum & toured it, then went to this nice park & chilled. Later, we went to the National Archives to see the constitution. And when we got out, it was POURING rain! I loved it! It looked like we had just taken a shower. hahaha.
Mmm, Friday & saturday we did a lot more of seeing thins & hanging out with Matt's family! We even got to see a MLB game on friday! Braves vs. Nationals! We had awesome seats! I Loved it! Braves won 9-8.
On the 4th of july, saturday, we went for a bike ride in the morning, which was SO NICE, and then we went to lunch with Matt's mom. Then we came home & played the card game canasta. Matt & I were on a team and we won! WOOHOO! hahah..
then we met up with Matts friends for the fireworks. We got to see them from the Holocaust museum, which is incredibly close. It was amazing. Best fireworks I've ever seen for sure.
Sunday, we went to church in Virginia...and MAN virginia is BEAUTIFUL! I was dying.
Sadly, we had to leave after church. The flight back seemed like the longest flight imaginable. But finally, we made it home! I had soooo much fun! =]
Our tickets for the House Gallery. But we got lost cuz it was closed, so we ended up on our own personalized tour of the capitol haah..
